A New Girl’s Home

We built a new home for our girls. It cost us just over $15,000 to do it. Construction expenses in this part of Uganda are much lower than in other more developed countries.

The pictures below show the journey from the old home, to the bare land, to the actual construction. We are so happy to have this finished

Our goal was to replace this rented building with a modest, attractive, comfortable home. By eliminating the rent expense of $500 per month, we have more resources to meet the needs of the children

We purchased two truckloads of dirt.
Checking out the bricks.
Preparing the site.
Laying out the foundation.
The walls begin to go up.
jjThe walls completed.
Ready for a roof.
Our friends from Austria, Marie, Marcos, and Frank, donated 100 sheets of metal for the roof.

The roof is done.
The outside of the home is complete. The children are excited. We received extra funds to build an outdoor toilet, too! It is the small structure on the right.
